WELCOME TO THE HOME OF ELFWISH DANDIE DINMONT TERRIERS

STEPPING OUT IN A NEW DIRECTION
Elfwish, long famous for top winning Pembroke Welsh Corgis, has moved on to the wonderful world of
DANDIE DINMONT TERRIERS!

The Dandie Dinmont Terrier is one of the short legged terriers that originated in the border country between England and Scotland. Although the precise origins of the breed are lost in history, modern fanciers believe that the Dandie and Bedlington Terrier may have a common root in the old scotch terrier (not the modern day Scottish Terrier), and the Welsh Harrier (an Otterhound), with possibly a splash of Bulldog. Whatever the origin, the result today is a mustard or pepper colored animal of short-legged stature, long in body with a harsh coated jacket and elegant furnishings on the topknot and legs. Named for a character in Sir Walter Scott’s book Guy Mannering, Dandie Dinmont’s terriers, the Dandie is truly the character of the terrier world!
